Built your MVP over a weekend? We'll take it to production.

SUBXCAT finds early-stage products — vibe-coded apps, MVPs, internal prototypes — and finishes the job: code, product, deployment and growth. No rewrite from scratch, no pause in development.

For people whose thing already works

The idea is validated and version one exists. What it needs now is engineering, not another prompt.

Vibe coders and solo founders

You built it in Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Cursor, the first users showed up — and you're afraid it falls over when more of them do.

Early-stage startups

The MVP got traction, an investor wants a technical review, and every new feature takes weeks instead of days.

Companies with a prototype

An internal tool or pilot built by one person. That person left, the product stayed — and people depend on it.

It works. Sort of.

Generated code looks great in a demo and much worse under load, in someone else's hands, and in its first security review. If two of these sound familiar, it's time.

  • Every fix breaks something next to it
  • Payments and auth have been “almost done” for a month
  • API keys live in code the browser can see
  • Nobody can explain how the product works — including the AI that wrote it
  • A hundred users and everything slows down
  • The model bill grows faster than revenue: no limits, no caching

What we usually find inside

Not a verdict — a work list. Almost all of it gets fixed without a rewrite.

Where What we find What we do
Security Secrets in the client, open tables, no access checks Keys moved server-side, row-level access, every input validated
Architecture Logic smeared across components, duplicates, no boundaries Layers, shared modules, clear contracts between parts
Tests There are none Tests where a bug costs most: money, sign-in, data
Infrastructure Manual deploys, no backups, no logs CI/CD, daily backups, monitoring and alerts
AI integrations No limits, prompt injection, blind retries Spend caps, injection defenses, queues and backoff

What we do

Individual pieces of work a plan is built from. Scroll through — each card is something that changes in your product.

Stack

We take the project in whatever it's built with, and finish it on what will survive growth.

How we work

Every step ends with something you can touch: a report, a plan, a working deployment.

  1. 1

    Review

Send a link or repo access. Within 48 hours you get a short report: what hurts and what it costs to fix. Free.

  2. 2

    Audit

Fixed price. Risks by priority, a fix-or-rewrite decision, a roadmap to launch.

  3. 3

    Hardening

We close risks in order: security and data first, then stability and speed.

  4. 4

    Launch

Production deploy, monitoring, first real users — and we're there when something goes wrong.

  5. 5

    Growth

Promotion and support. A product you're not afraid to scale.

You keep building. We hold production.

No code freeze. Two tracks run in parallel and meet in code review.

Fix it or rewrite it

Rewriting from scratch is the most expensive answer, and usually the wrong one. We decide from the code, not from habit.

Refactor

Most of the time

The idea and the data model are right; the details hurt. We keep everything that works and rework what's in the way.

Hybrid

When the core hurts

We rewrite the heart — data, permissions, payments — and keep the interface people are used to.

Rewrite

When fixing costs more

It happens. Then we'll say so plainly and show you the numbers.

If you don't need us, we'll tell you. Sometimes one evening and the right checklist is enough.

Engagement models

After the audit, one of two paths. Either way, the code and access stay yours.

Hand over the project

One-time payment per the audit estimate

We finish the product to the audit plan and hand everything over. From there you build on your own or with any team — no lock-in.

  • Source code in your repository
  • Access to every service and account
  • Documentation of how it all works
  • A handover call with your team

Hand over and maintain

We hand the project over and stay close: the product stays updated, up and current while you focus on customers.

Security

from $500/mo

For a product that already works: we keep it locked down.

  • Dependency updates and vulnerability fixes
  • Access and secrets reviews
  • Monitoring for suspicious activity
  • Incident investigation and response
Security · DevOps

Frontend + backend

from $800/mo

The product lives and grows: fixes, improvements and releases without a team of your own.

  • Fixes and small improvements
  • Updates and releases
  • Monitoring and backups
  • Tasks in the order of your priorities

Best value

Frontend + backend + security

from $1000/mo

Everything together: the product grows and stays protected. Cheaper than separately.

  • Everything in “Frontend + backend”
  • Everything in “Security”
  • One team responsible for the whole
  • Quarterly risk review

Why a cat

A cat finds what's hidden and always lands on its feet. That's all you need from a product after us.

  • Finds what's hiddenKeys in browser code, open tables, the screen where people drop off. Things a demo never shows.
  • Lands on its feetA traffic spike, a failed service, a 3 a.m. incident — the product gets up and keeps going.
  • Nine livesBackups with restore drills, monitoring and rollback: the product always has a spare life.

FAQ

Do we have to rewrite the whole app?

Usually not. We replace only what's unsafe or won't survive growth, and keep everything that works. A rewrite is decided after the audit and explained with numbers.

My code is a total mess. Is that okay?

Yes. That's what we're here for. A mess is just code without structure, and structure arrives step by step without breaking what people already use.

What technologies do you work with?

TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Go; Postgres, Supabase, Firebase; React Native and Flutter on mobile. If you have something else, we'll tell you at the review whether we take it.

How much does it cost?

The review is free. The audit has a fixed price we name upfront. After that, work is scoped from the audit plan — no open-ended hourly meter.

How long does it take?

An audit takes up to a week. Hardening starts at two weeks, depending on what we find. The timeline is in the audit report.

Who owns the code?

You do, always. We work in your repository and your accounts, and leave documentation behind so the product doesn't depend on us.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, before we see the code. Just tick the box in the form.
